We had an amazing stay at Sofitel. The staff went above and beyond to make our honeymoon and anniversary unforgettable. Vinicius surprised us with personalized treats and recommendations. The room was comfortable with beautiful views. We can't wait to return!

Bad service, extremely expensiv,

The location, the restaurant and the comfort.

the staff at sofitel rio de janeiro ipanema were exceptional - friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. they made our stay unforgettable and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. the location on ipanema beach was superb, providing beautiful views and convenient access to the city.

The location is excellent and to stay as guest in this hotel is very save as you can reach the room only with your key.

In the bath room there was fungy at the corners in the shower. The window had a gape that every night during wind the curtain were flying up and down.

The two ladies at the concierge were exceptional the way they gave us suggestions and generally how patient and nice they were. This made our stay much more pleasant and added to the feel of the hotel.

The rooms were nothing special. We had a great view but the general furnishing of the room was average.

Amazing oceanfront views and impeccable service! I was blown away by the stunning views of Ipanema Beach from my room at Sofitel. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Patricia at reception made me feel like a VIP and Vini at the concierge desk provided excellent advice and recommendations. I highly recommend this hotel for a magical stay in Ipanema.

Located right on the beach, this hotel boasts a prime location close to local sights and restaurants. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the beach from their rooms, and the breakfast buffet is said to be delicious. the spacious and comfortable rooms and friendly staff make this a great choice for a stay.

Some guests noted that the plumbing in the hotel could use an upgrade, with issues reported in multiple rooms.

Great location

Unreliable wifi and keen but generally incompetent staff

This a the best located hotel on the beach. The rooms are first rate but small, the service is excellent and in many ways it is luxurious. My biggest complaint is with the add-ons. Bottled water in the room is $7 us, ironically, the same as the gin. Breakfast is on the top floor with views of all of Ipanema. The buffet options are spectacular, but so is the price ($30@us). If you´re just having coffee let them know or you will get charged for a meal. Take a bike ride along the beach or lagoon, but don´t rent at the hotel. It costs $30us/hour, but if you look around you can rent bikes more economically. The only thing free were the beach lounges, umbrella and towels, which we enjoyed greatly.

The staff is friendly, especially towards returning customers. The "corner" bed offers amazing views. Breakfast on the rooftop with ocean and Dois Irmaos views is excellent. The management is working hard to improve service.

Felt immediately at home, no complaints.

The hotel is very well situated in Ipanema, facing the beach. Our room on the 8th floor had a lovely view of the beach and "the Two Brothers" mountain, wich is extra nice in the afternoon. This was, however, pointed out as better than what we had booked.

The bed was surprisingly uncomfortable, and unfortunately the air conditioning was noisy and not very efficient.

Because the location

The breaksfast is so expensive... $50,00 per person is terrible!!! If I pay almost u$ 500 the breakfst ould be free!!!
